DWA was appointed by the Karaikal Port to identify a strategic partner to operate a container terminal that has been proposed for the port. DWA performed a strategic overview and the following wor was undertaken:

Outline the hinterland which the terminal would seek to serve |

Generate a long list of the type of companies that could be interested in operating a container terminal at Karaikal Port |

Prepare a set of criteria through which the suitability of each type of company could be assessed for suitability |

Generate a long list of specific potential companies |
| |

|
Mark each company against the identified criteria to develop a short list of potential operators |
| |
|
|
Provide recommendations based on the short list of potential operators and how they could be approached to identify a preferred operator |

|
|
Provide an indication of how a terminal operator could be introduced to Karaikal Port |
